I am very passionate about my fishing and guiding. In after all these years you would think every charter just be another day at the office but days like today just make it a pleasure and a blessing to be able to do this for a living! Thanks to EVERYONE who has booked me...can’t do it without all of y’all Big striper blasting top...what I LOVE ❤️ This is a Guy Harvey quote and it really describes my sickness I even put it on a banner Addiction may seem like a strong term, however, in many cases it doesn't even begin to describe our behavior. There are no gateway substances that lead us down this path. It's a distraction of enormous magnitude that affects every facet of our lives. Relationships break-up, financial irresponsibility begins, friendships erode, all of this for that wonderful, primal, feeling. The effects are obvious, our sleeping patterns change, and we are tired and lethargic between fixes.. We buy and trade paraphernalia needed to support our habit, Many times when we know that the money can be spent on “wiser” things, we just can't help ourselves. The problem with our addiction is that there are no criminal offenses that can be charged. We are not hanging out in alleys saying “hey man, how much for that Power Pro”. Our equipment needed to support our habit is legal. Not only is it legal, it is everywhere. All you have to do is go a few miles, it may be lower quality “stuff”, but the price is right. Or, we can go to higher quality dealers and get some of the best “stuff” in the world. There are many others in the same situation, we have telltale wounds on our hands and feet that cannot be denied. Somehow are vocabulary has changed and is foreign to our long time friends and family. We begin to wear new “colors”, these colors signify large or small groups sharing this problem. The worse thing about this obsession, it is something that will only grow stronger when we grow older. There are no rehabilitation centers for this dependence. No specially trained psychologists to assist with the problem Cold turkey is out of the question and the thought of weaning ones-self off is just too painful. All we can do until a “cure” is discovered, is FISH-ON!

It is a blessing Chris. I love guides that love to fish as much as I do. Again, it’s not a job, it’s a blessing. AND IT’S FUN!!

Chris, I know this for sure, you probably don't sleep during the top water bite because you're so addicted. You are blessed to have such a great job and with your great personality it makes being on your boat fun. Next time we hook up you have to where the pullover I gave you and I'll wear mine you gave me. Maybe it would be fun to go with a bunch of newbies on the boat and not tell them we have fished together!

You gave me "The Sickness" and will have and enjoy it for the rest of my life. From the very first time I fished with you it was like fishing with a friend, a friend who has the uncanny ability to find fish.

A guide such as yourself that is not only able to find fish and figure out how to catch fish creates a new level of experience ! This is the legacy of being a fishing " Junkie". The top water frenzy or in winter months, thumping ,finding balls or bait with lines running thru , ambush spots etc ... dead sticking bite . Occupies more gray matter than normal .
Good job sir , always enjoy your threads !!!

I got 5-10 minutes of top water yesterday morning before I got sick..... sick of the trollers circling you at 10 yards and weaving in and out of everyone. All 5 boats were guides. Trollers like that are the equivalent of Gar.
