The weather today was pretty near the same as 2 weeks ago, started out fairly cool mainly because of the heavy cloud cover which hung around to about 9 AM. Then it got hot. Perhaps it would have been better if the full moon was not 3 nights ago. The fish were caught on wacky, c-rigs, drop shots and t-rigs. Winds were slight. Congrats to Herb Powell for catching a real nice 25" bass on a Shaky head.

Hard Core is what we call this tournament, but it follows the Major League Fishing format where every fish you catch over 10" counts. With Lake Fork partitioned into three sections and the section rotates each week throughout the year. Today section 2 was scheduled. LFA Members will qualify for the semi-final in November by catching 6 lb. in one tournament and attending at least 6 tournaments. Or fish 80% of the tournaments.

All the bass are measured, recorded and released on the spot except for pictures taking of which there is a lot because of all the big fish we catch. Not bragging. It's Lake Fork man!

Boaters Results

1st place went to Herb Powell of Lake Fork with 8 bass for 15.87 LB with the boater lunker of 9.75 LB .
2nd place went to Randy Bunch of Lake Fork with 5 bass for11.75 LB with a 6.89 LB lunker
3rd place went to Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs with 5 bass for 10.53 LB with a 4.31 LB lunker..
4th place went to Galen Smith of Alba with 3 bass for 10.45 LB with a 3.95 LB lunker.
5th place went to Tim Gold of Mineola with 8 bass for 7.87 LB with the boater lunker of 1.87 LB lunker

Co-Angler Results

1st place went to Alf Tuggle of Cypress Springs with 5 bass for 7.38 LB with a 2.15 LB lunker..
2nd place went to Rick Wright of Royse City with 2 bass for 5.08 LB with the co-angler lunker of 3.54 LB
3rd place went to Bob Lambert of Lake Fork with 2 bass for 4.00 LB with a 2.88 LB lunker.
4th place went to Jackie Price of Alba with 5 bass for 3.63 LB with a 0.87 LB lunker.
5th place went to Jimmy Bright of Frisco with 4 bass for 3.56 LB with a 1.92 LB lunker.

75 keepers were caught and even though everyone said it was tough today there were no skunks.

The Lake Fork Anglers fish every Thursday throughout the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas on 2 different formats. Members are required to fish at least 8 of the Hard Core or LFA or any combination of tournaments to maintain membership. Dues is $5 a year and tournaments are $15.
