Anyone have access to older wooden telephone/electric poles? Looking to buy some if that's even a possibility?

Check with Electric Coops. I'm pretty sure Navarro Co Coop still sells their old ones. You have to load them your self, they won't help. So take extra people.

I'm building a cover for our camper and the thought of using those as support popped into my usually empty head hammer so I thought i'd ask.
14-15' pole....give or take i'm guessing.

if you have a regular lumber yard handy go ask about ordering treated poles, they can usually get long lengths.

16' should be easy, base should be around 10"

much easier to work with since there is no creosote.

There is a guy in Abilene that sells them by the foot. Pretty cheap.
Problem is hauling them.

For a camper cover, I would look at Carolina Carports. You can order any length legs and still be cheaper than building from scratch. One day build too.

x2 on checking with the Co-Op or power company. several years ago I got several trailer loads of broken or no-good-for-use-anymore poles from the Co-Op for free, only had to meet the guy at the gate and do the loading myself (had couple of the boys do the labor part while I supervised). Perfect for the log cabin and fort we made for the Gkids.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.
