I was thinking earlier this week that we haven't had a "One Man's Trash" contest in quite some time, and given the new nature of how we make baits, there just isn't a lot of scrap jigs lying around anymore. So, with that being said, let's give away one of our Fall Brawl tackle packages.
This package contains 200pcs of my favorite patterns to guide with in the fall (20pcs of ten different colors) and 50 jig heads. On the conservative side, this is enough tackle to bring in over 4,000 crappie and has a $60.00 value.
The rules are simple. The closest guess to how many Thump Buddies are ready to ship out in the boxes pictured below wins the Fall Brawl tackle package. Guessing starts now and ends next Thursday (8/13) when I get back onshore from chasing amberjack.
***Hint: donโt guess under 20,000
We've been catching our crappie behind shrimp boats and on "brush piles" in 80-120ft. Red snapper season ended last Saturday, and amberjack season just fired off. I will be chasing kingfish, amberjack, shark, tarpon, barracuda, red drum, cobia and whatever else bites the hook until early September. After that, it's time to put the hammer down on the crappie again. If you're interested in joining me on an offshore trip, we're about halfway booked up for 2021 already, so get some friends together and meet me down at Port O'Connor. I'm running a boat for Michael and Terry Littlejohn, and they will be able to help you with your offshore scheduling needs. 903-441-3937 or www.tawakoniguideservice.com
