Hey All — I just got a used boat to get my boys out on lake Conroe fishing. Thinking we’ll go try to catch some catfish fist. Looking for any tips this time of year. I’m guessing deeper water with he heat. Also read on another post that fishing near the 1097 bridge for cats has been good. I just joined this forum and looks like lots of great info and sharing. Glad to be part of it now.

Never fished Conroe before. Heard it was a Great catfish lake. We several people that use Stubby’s on the lake. I have family that way and will fish it soon. I would definitely go deeper water in this heat. Find some timber in deep water with a nearby creek and you should be good

Welcome to the TFF Brad!
Not sure exactly how you will be catfishing, be it R-n-R or set lines (such as trotlines, juglines, etc.), but you might want to check out my Catfish Calendar to assist. Look for the thread titled "Lynn's Catfish Calendar". I have a few on Lake Conroe who use it. Just remember, I am sure the thermocline is active.

Hey Bradtx, I'm thinking of heading up to the 1375 bridge and fish the river channel in the morning. Did you have any luck?

I went yesterday and caught four little channels in a row on CJs shad. Tried a live shad and got nothing. The bite was good, I missed a bunch of little ones before I rerigged.
