On 7/11 I purchased a low priced Microsoft Surface ....refurb.

The invoice and confirmation were from Tablets Unlimited. Sounded legit.

In trying to reconcile my credit card....no charge from Tablets Unlimited....BUT, I have a charge in the same amount, same date from
Angellipscosmetics. No females here, and while there are probably some who think makeup might improve my appearance....I don’t use them.

Pretty certain I am a victim of theft. I am wondering if I should cancel yet another credit card....

Same happened to me with brooks running shoes. Came back with a different email than Brooks. Filled a complaint with pay pal and ranged it I got a refund from whatever phony website that somehow hacked Brooks website. That or it was legit and I never go my shoes and it was a third party reseller out of China.

I got my money back.

PayPal has turned out to be pretty solid. Have used them a lot.

I had my credit card text me and ask about a charge for gas. It turned there were 4 charges at gas stations up near Mt Vernon. I have no idea how the card info stolen and no idea how the CC company detected the fraud. I think they only did small amounts at small gas stations because the pay didn’t have to use a chipped card. It’s perplexing when this happens.

Did you pay with PayPal? They will hammer them if so. I have a CC on my PayPal account and Photobucket, yes Photobucket, charged me for storage even though I cancelled that BS long ago.

I was first denied a refund, then produced an email proving my case, and they yanked the money from them.

If just a CC I would for sure cancel it. This happens a lot. Use PayPal whenever possible.

not sure if you can still do it or not but my paypal won't pay for an item till whatever it is is delivered. set this up a couple of yrs. back so not sure if they still do it or not.

The company from whom I made the purchase responded to my text....they apologized and said to request a chargeback from my bank.

Contacted bank....they said a responsible company would have sent my money back...not tell the bank to give me my money back.

At their advice, charge has been disputed...and card reported stolen. They said deal hinkey enough, call card stolen and get new one issued....so I did.

They're right! Your bank can REQUEST a charge back. The company does not have to approve it. Otherwise everyone would just request a chargeback even if the sale was legit.

Does this stuff happen if you order from Amazon?
