Does boiling topwater frogs really increase the hookup ratios while fishing? In this video, I decided to test this theory out and boil one of my hollow body topwater frogs to see if it really made the material softer and easier to compress. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the video!

I was watching a 'new frog' commercial video today, and it actually comes with a 'new' hole in the top of the frogs back to improve hook ups so the frog will collapse easier. So in theory you may be on to something. Keep up the thinking.. `

If you're going to boil them you might as well dump some of this in the pot too. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/08/full-45380-62156-crawfish.jpg)
Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!

Increasing the number of hookups would be tough to gauge but boiling them will make the plastic more pliable. Same concept when athletes boil and mold mouthguards.

Boil them gradually.
Otherwise they jump out of the pot.

Always practice safety and wear proper PPE. Lids should be securely fastened so they do not jump out.
