Headed to Texoma next weekend and I have never caught a small mouth and would really like to give it a try!

What kind of tips and tricks can y'all give to point me in the direction of maybe boating a few??

Fish rocky bluff walls with deep water close by with spinner baits, crankbaits, jerkbaits, topwaters in any color you like so long as it is white, chartruse, or both. Pay special attention to the little points here and there. You will likely bump into at least one doing this.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Fished Texoma this weekend and the active fish were on the main lake
12fow had smaller active fish
25-35fow had larger active fish

Be prepared to be frustrated. Texoma was very tough this weekend.
Keep your head on a swivel for wakeboats

Had zero luck shallow, maybe a bluegill bite on a shaky head.

The lake is loaded with shad right now

As soon as you get in 20ft+ of water, it looked like this almost everywhere

I fish Texoma multiple times a year so I know the drill with the wake boats, I try to get out there as early as I can drag the wife out of bed and get my fishin in before it gets crazy. I usually just target striper to get some meat in the freezer but this time I would just really like to find a few small mouth.

Run into the 9 small cuts going toward the dam on the South side. Look for CCTX's image as you turn into them. If the shad are thick into the cut the bass will be in there. If there are none showing up on the sonar then leave and run to the next one. Pay attention at what depth they are schooling. This will be the depth that they will connect to the points inside that cove.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Targeting the small mouth; find clearer water, early on the rocks close to deeper water.
Small shad colored sq bills, Ned rig shallow
Small shad colored crankbaits, drop shot, and shaky head deeper.

Several weeks ago my wife and I caught several in the cove by the boat ramp at the dam. They were in 9 feet, but may be deeper now that it has heated up.
