Nobody wants in the business of general mail delivery for the price of a stamp. Kind of like the land line phone business, it's a losing deal.

Why would a federal election be any different than a state or local? It's still personal a correspondence. It's still the same mail service unless the USPS hires some Russian operatives to pose as postal workers whose sole assignment is to destroy ballots (Spread that one while you're at it.). You have to request a mail-ballot presently. I just did so. The real deal is the Republicans are going to lose this election, and they know it. Fearmongering and unproven propaganda are their last straws.

local elections may deal with as many as a whopping 100k votes (guess) vs a federal election involving millions.
ever read about vote harvesting? think that is okay? no way anyone could fill out granmas ballot and mail it for them, as a courtesy of course.

Trump on Friday: "“People should go and they should vote — or do it absentee ballot...It’s actually a great thing, absentee ballots. I’m going to be voting absentee."

Which is pretty much the same as voting by mail.
