Nobody is bailing unless they have a legend exemption points, only other way is to quit and try to re-qualify through the opens and I don't see many sponsors paying guys the same amount to do that plus its a big gamble.

It's really amazing to me how often this happens. I fished 3 different tournament trails as a hobby years ago as a co-angler. The first thing I did when I fished a new trail was get online and read the rules, and second pay attention at the pre tournament meeting. Most of the rules for all the trails were the same, but when I did come across something unusual like this it kinda stuck in my head.
Most of these guys do this for a living, I know they all fish multiple trails, but this a mistake that could have been cleared up with one phone call to the T.D.
Really no excuse for not knowing the rule.

Yeah, I think he's been in an aluminum Triton for awhile now. I don't know if he went smaller for this particular tournament, sounds like it.

its the same one

I don't think it was the same one

The John Cox Rule got 'em! hammer

It is each of the competitors responsibility to know and obey the rules whether they agree with them or not. cheers

It’s not. His MLF rig has a 175 and is a larger boat.

That's funny. It's clearly not the same boat buddy. He uses a larger Triton in BPT trail and brought out this smaller aluminum with a 90 HP for this tournament.

Why people comment when they don't know what they're talking about...

A rule is a rule. A law is a law. There are dumb rules and dumb laws. He should have been disqualified for breaking a rule. The rule shouldn’t be there, though. Both can be true.

Also, he met the minimum boat size. But his outboard HP was too small. Dumb.

and if they allow no min then guys would need multiple boats to fish this one series possibly, how would that make any sense....

No, they wouldn’t. If they allow no minimum size, it would allow guys to make a choice, and would allow tournaments to be even more competitive.

He broke the rule so he should be out. It’s still a dumb rule, and that’s what many of us are saying.

They've only given 2 legend expemptions a year up until now, it used to be just one, Nixon has already said he wants in next year if they will let him.

This, Poche seems a bit of a loose cannon, remember the fist fight with Ish?

You mean the incident when Ish jumped into his boat and assaulted him?

So you're a professional. Enter an event. Don't read the rules before you drag your boat half way across the country. Break the rules and get weight zeroed. Go on Facebook and cry about it. So you're a professional? Whatever dude!

Poche in the Opens on the Red River had a super tiny brown jon boat that may have had a 50 on there. He always locked down to Pool 4 and no matter what boat number he had would still be the last one to the lock.

A rule is a rule. Sucks but ah well.

No matter how many of you say it, it doesnt make it a dumb rule.

If by more competitive you mean cost the competitors more, yep your right on that. They already arent making a living based on tournament pay outs, might as well have them towing multiple boats to each lake in case the pattern ends up being xxx...
