This is one of the more odd summer's in my opinion! We are running cooler wetter and it seems the fish we are seeing now is the fish we normally see in early July. I'm mainly thinking of the mid morning topwater action.

Royce and I are working huge schools of sandbass not every morning but a lot of mornings.
We usually see this in Early July.
Unfortunately once the schooling is over it will be the last you see of the sandbass for the morning!

I break out the live bait about 9:00 am looking for hybrids and let me tell you folks who don't do this regularly this isn't easy!
It's all about your depth finder sittings and being extremely familiar with the humps and fingerpoints of the lake.

We have with no exaggeration a million catfish out there and the pan size ones look a lot  like catfish to me! Sometimes they mix right in with the catfish and the minute you drop a bait down 1000 tiny bluecat move in, so it can get frustrating.
I just keep  pecking around until i find what im looking for and getum quick!

A little bit of news of my Best Buddy Chris Watson, he's almost midway through his radiation and Chemotherapy. He's holding his own with his weight dropping 40 pounds so far. He has a fisherman's tan on his face from the radiation.
Chris feels nauseated a lot and very week but he's the old middle linebacker from Rusk Texas and he's tougher than most.
Chris will make it through this and is focused on fishing this Fall and Winter!Go Team Catman Watson!

To schedule for August or this Fall and Winter call
