Does anyone know any details about the current tackle situation? No matter where I go, Academy, Wal-Mart, Cabela’s, or Tackle Warehouse, it appears that shelves or hooks are thread bare and many items on back order without a clear timeline for re-stock. Is this due to reduced production per the slow economy, folks fishing that hard, or something else?

There’s this pandemic thing. Slowing down all industries. Tackle included.

I tried to make an order from TackleWarehouse but I grew so frustrated with the number of out of stocks, I gave up! Shopping at Academy, BPS, and Walmart has been hit or miss.

Manufacturers are having trouble keeping up with a double whammy. Employees out and lots of people fishing. Tackle Warehouse has been behind in shipping for months due to Covid. I have a TW order I placed April 11 that had a backorder that didnt come in until late June and TW still hasnt been able to shiip it. It sux but it is what it is.

Thankful I live at Fork...… most of the local stores have had what I need as far as terminal tackle.
Another school of thought..... if your out of your "confidence" bait, maybe this will force you to try an alternative that you might have not otherwise thrown. You might just find another tool hidden inside you box.

Go online to Cedar Run Outdoors, might have some items you're looking for.

I do some saltwater fishing, so I need hooks and sinkers to make leaders. Yes, all of the stores are out of just about everything, especially lead weights. I was able to get some 3/0 black nickel hooks at Academy and Ebay. I like to use a 1/2 ounce torpedo weight with double rings. There are none to be found here in town. I looked online and they are going anywhere from $1-1.50 each. I guess I'll get a mold and make some myself.

I have been doing fine on most of my stuff, and yes I have gotten out of my go-to nailers (comfort zone), but I am getting low on most everything except hard baits. I have considered molding my own but even that is slim pickings. The grasshoppers may be in for genocide if this keeps up.

After years and years of hoarding lures, I’m finally set for this mess. I think I can go for 2-3 years without buying a single lure.

I just got an order on Tuesday that I placed a couple months ago but I ordered them knowing they were back ordered. I have ordered some other lures 4 times from both Bass Pro and Cabela's separately (that's 8 orders) and every time they have canceled the orders after a month or so.

I'm using some of the 8000 lbs of soft plastics in my boat I've never had any intention of using until COVID.

hooks and tackle have been sparse at bps since trump imposed the tariffs on china. It started with hooks and weights and has gone to everything now.
I was in bps the other day and was told everything they had fishing stock wise was on the floor the back room is completely empty.
