Sounds like the other angler’s problems not the guy with the 25. If that’s what is necessary for that lake the others should adapt as well.

BBC has some good comments on how stupid this rule is.

yeah, guys should have to own 5 different boats to fish one series, that none of them can actually make a living off already.

And?

Also, he met the minimum boat size. But his outboard HP was too small. Dumb.

and if they allow no min then guys would need multiple boats to fish this one series possibly, how would that make any sense....

No different than jet drive boats being outlawed on most trails. I get it... sucks Poche had to figure it out the hard way.

Agree oversight on his part, I know the rule was put in place because of John Cox but they are fishing some serious BIG water up north, nothing like we have in texas, part of this is safety deal for the co-angler, marshall or cameraman remember this rule was written pre-covid.

They don't HAVE to own them. It's their choice. Your argument is that someone that buys another piece of equipment, a boat, has an unfair advantage of another guy that either chooses not to or can't afford to. That's no different than the guys that choose to buy an extra 15k in graph technology having an advantage over the guys that choose not to or can't afford to. So when are we going to start restricting those tools also? Your argument is nonsense.

...just noticed this, are they letting the MLF guys cherry pick these super tourneys? Thrift is not in this one but he was at the previous, and Poche obvioulsy will not be at the next. I thought MLF guys had to commit to all three to be able to fish them.

nonsense, umm common sense. but there is no argument, they have the rules already written and its clear to most people with common sense why.

Same reason you cant fish in a kayak in most bass tournaments.

Completely on him...should have read the rules. I don't feel bad for him, he seems to be a real jerk.

I like him and feel bad that it happened.
Yes he should have checked the rules on HP before but still is a chicken s—t rule that came about from guys that can’t fish as good as some of the others. Like was said above....sounds like some local bass club BS we’ve all had to deal with at some point

Sounds like he is done with FLW and I would guess many more will be bailing on the FLW/MLF deal soon. A lot of things seem to have changed that were supposed to be in place for the first 3 years.

don't know this for a fact but suspect this rule was put in place because somebody used a smaller aluminum boat and engine which enabled him to get back in a shallow area that you couldn't get back in with a heavy engine on your boat....someone complained so they put that 150 hp rule in place....mark menendez won a tourny on ark river several years ago in an aluminum boat that he was able to get into a shallow back water area with....BASS got complaints that many of the competitors couldn't afford both an aluminum small boat and a full size tounry boat so they made a rule that you had to use the same boat entire year.....

That's called out thinking and out working the field.
