...due to motor being too small. FLW rule states minimum HP has to be 150. He was running a 90 on his aluminum rig. He took responsibility on his Instagram page with the video he posted.

There are stupid rules in life, and then there’s this rule. Wow.

Poche said in his vid that the rule was put in place a couple years back when John Cox won an event with a small boat/motor. Someone complained so FLW implemented a minimum HP rule.

minimum rule makes total sense, totally obvious why there would be to me.

someone shows up with a shallow water boat with a 25hp and fishes a pond up a creek or something and nobody else has a boat that could have gotten there.... etc

Dont try and take someones shine away..... Doing so just shows YOUR weak character.

And?

Also, he met the minimum boat size. But his outboard HP was too small. Dumb.

I guess I am in the minority, If it's in the rules then it's in the rules. Nobody is making him fish. I also don't understand why the rule for some is stupid.
If you want a river boat make sure it is in compliance with the rules before said Tourney. hammer

Sounds like the other angler’s problems not the guy with the 25. If that’s what is necessary for that lake the others should adapt as well.

BBC has some good comments on how stupid this rule is.
