Thanks for the report Dennis, Headed there in a couple weeks. renting a cabin near gunbarrel. Is there a place to buy minnows in gunbarrel? might try to find some brushpiles for crappie?
Life journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved state. But rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy carp what a ride!"

Tuesday July 28: FYI, I took a short trip out to check to see if any whites had moved on to shallower (13 to 18 fow) structures. I checked the A-frame, Sam's hump, Key RAnch Drop-off, Key Ranch North and Merimac Point. I found good concentrations of big whites at Key Ranch Drop-off but none on the other spots. I caught 10 fish to verify they were catchable and caught them on both #2 and #4 Mepps. Thanks Dennis, just got some #4 Mepps in to try your technique Saturday morning!

Thursday July 30: Went on a scouting run from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM today. Caught 6 whites and a cat at Campbell's Hump, but none of the other structures down by the dam had any good concentrations. Drew's Humps, The A-Frame, Long Ridge West, and Sam's Hump also no fish. Finished up at Mid-lake Hump and caught 19 more whites and 7 legal hybrids to 22 inches. Decided to leave when sandy count got to 25. All f ish caught on #4 Mepps. At Mid-lake Hump set up on the north end in 24 fow and cast north to catch the hybrids working the Mepps on the bottom. You will be working the Mepps up the slope.
