ND will be playing an ACC schedule this year, since many conferences are not allowing out of conference games, and ND is independent (they play in the ACC in all other sports except football, and play several ACC teams in football each season).

What’s interesting to me, since I somehow wound up with several friends and family members who are ND fans, and they all believe ND should stay independent and say the NBC TV deal is one of the biggest reasons, is that ND’s TV revenue will be split amongst the ACC schools.

This season was going to be a temporary solution so that ND actually has a full schedule, but I believe they need to join a conference if they want to be eligible for the playoffs (since conference championships play into the selection committee’s decision every year). The selection committee also already put ND in the playoff, but the selection committee is a dumpster fire. Anyway, I think ND will end up being a permanent ACC team for football. Maybe not right away after this year, but one of the biggest hangups was ND’s NBC deal. If they’re willing to rev share it, and allowed to keep it, it might pave the way for a permanent move.

I agree they should be in a conference. But I still think there will be a big shake up in college football conference realignment in the next few yrs.
I would think NBC and the ACC could work something out in regards to ND.

Geographically, they should be in the Big 10 and get whipped by Ohio State every year, Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin every other year, and by Purdue and Minnesota once in a while.

Some of my friends and family are super fans and I can’t handle college football season with them. They don’t even know anyone who went there, and they absolutely didn’t go there. All of them are Catholics and that’s why they’re fans. A few have never even been to the campus!

It’s worse than being a Cub’s dan because they were on WGN every day.

I know several that went there. A few are some of the best people you will ever meet; Very smart, hard working, and Captain America ethics/morals. The others; hypocritical and shady behavior come to mind.
