I will never make the mistake of buying an outboard that doesn't have a dealer network near me again. popcorn2

I have never been thrilled with the Yamaha service near Tyler,
I have had very good service out of this motor, maybe 4 trips to the shop in 19 years, and one of those trips was because they screwed up more than they fixed.
But If I have to take the boat off the lift and put in on the trailer , what difference is another 30 or 40 miles?
At first glance , Suzuki is several thousand less than Yamaha.

Just looking for feed back on those two dealers..

thanks

MO

Zukes are easy to keep running here on the coast, they've built enough dealer and customer base to support a decent network. Inland? Errr, you might want to seriously reconsider your choices.

Go around the back to the shop and ask the lead tech which one he'd buy. That would be my starting point right there.

I'm not slamming zukes, there's a half dozen good service shops in 50 miles of here, but here isn't there.

Nothing like waiting 6 months on parts. Have Service marine in Emory fix your Yamaha and spend your money on fishing tackle.

take a look at the Tohatsu engines as well.
I'm in Quitman. I'm a Tohatsu and Mercury dealer now.

If you like Suzuki, then you'll like Tohatsu. (It's the same motor in 4 stroke)

I put 9,000 hours on my 90, it sucked through a tanker full of garbage gas and pumped 5,000 acres of mud through it.

Sartin came highly recommended to me from a guide from Lake Palestine, no personal experience though.
