I bought this new in 2001 , on a 22 ft bluewave CC. I thought it would outlast me, but now I am not so sure. Do I have to take it to the repair shop to check the hours ? What would be considered the life of this motor in hours ?
The days of me pulling it to the coast are gone, I am 67. If I have to repower , I am thinking of going with less motor, I live on a lake , rarely run more than 5 miles in a day.

Does anyone here run a 150 hp on a 22 ft bluewave ? What will it run in MPH ? My motor is a little sick at the moment, will only run 36-39 rpm , about 33 mph.

last question , If you were going to repower in my situation , 2 or 4 stroke ?

thanks

Bob Maindelle fishing guide runs a 60hp on a 22' boat. you can definitely get by with much smaller than the 200hp. I'd go with 4 stroke, less noise, less things that can go wrong, it WILL outlast you at 67.

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!
