Exciting things are happening here at Oak Thicket Park. We are remodeling the fishing pier and courtesy docks. With that being said the boat ramp will remain open, but the fishing pier, courtesy dock and day use bathroom will be closed a few day this week. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Saw it this morning. Pretty cool considering the dock was in pretty sad shape! Any chance the potholes in the road will get filled too? Really glad to see the place shaping up!

I'm glad they are doing the docks and restroom. Both were getting pretty bad.

I met the manger from the new company that has the operating concession from LCRA just after they took over. He said they would address the poor ramp conditions at Oak Thicket. I said it would be great if they would at least maintain the dock's rub rail so you would not get nail scratches in the side of your boat. He said they would. Looks like they are doing a major rehab. Good for them. Im sure they will address the pot holes as well. The entrance rates will probably increase but Im ok with that since they are definitely making improvements. But I hope they don't increase them like whoever the 3rd party operator is at Coleto Creek. Coleto Creek charges $17 to get in to just launch your boat. That was 2 years ago. Other power plant lakes are expensive to launch as well.

Great News...Restrooms were in pretty sad shape...no water coming out of the sink! My favorite place to launch.

Love Oak Thicket!

Cast netters... wish they'd clean those clowns up.

No I'll still be fishing there on occasion.
