I have 2 cabelas, never had to use either so I just assume they will work. I'm 6'2" and 220

mustang 35 # flotation would be best out there.

Hop, I'm sure that one would float you. You don't have to wear both of them...

Non inflatables work 100% of the time.
Have you been doing the maintenance, and checking for recalls.
Especially for the grandkids use a non inflatable, you would never forgive yourself if something happened and one did not open.
Look at NSR chinnook for yourself as one that is made for plenty of movement in the arms/shoulders and will always keep you afloat.

If kids are using an ONYX, is it an inflatable model? (ONYX tends to be) What age are the "kids"? Be aware that a child must be at least 16 for an inflatable to be considered legal in the first place.
Have you serviced the 5 year old Mustang? (There are components that expire and must be replaced if you expect them to work; also required to be legal. Yes, some officers will check the expiration date.)

Sir,
A while back someone posted some Life vest test on a lake. He was right in my opinion. Someone may know where it is at.

My two cents. I tested a few vest in my pool. The best two that held my face out of the water are my Inflatable Mustang vest (opened every time) along with the low cost non inflatable Orange vest. The Non inflatable vest Within one minute put my face in the water.

My other more expensive Non inflatables “did not keep my face out of the water” .

I would trust the Orange non inflatable on any kid. Just pull the straps tight and ensure the standards are met.

I know this small test is not getting thrown out of a boat but we know a kid can drown in any water.

I know you will find one that is safe for them!

Also, my Onyx one You wear around your waist (pull strap) inflated every time. You just have to pull the vest over your head when it inflates.
