We're making a road trip in the last part of August to see my nephews's new twin daughters (boy was he surprised...:) and coming back from it we thought about swinging down thru Nebraska on our way home. Anybody ever fished there and if you have where did you fish? I'm thinking somewhere along the I-80 corridor since that's going to be our travel route.

thanks...

Where in Nebraska along I-80? The state is almost 400 miles east to west. If you are up towards the western end Lake McConaughy by Ogallala and Sutherland Res by Sutherland can be good. If you go around Ogallala the fishing in the North Platte River can be really good for channel cats and white bass in the river before it dumps into the lake. The outlet spillway for Lake McConaughy can be really good for rainbow trout at times because the outlet water comes from deep in the lake and is really cold. Not sure if the trout would be good this time of year though, I hit it in the spring when I lived in CO.

I agree with flags but if you can tell me where in the state I lived there for 28 years in lincoln. If you’re near that area send me a PM and I can send you a couple of decent bass lakes to try. Keep in mind a 5lb bass is a monster there, compared to 8lbs+ down here.
