I was out there yesterday fishing the humps SE of the dam area for sandies and hopefully hybrids, but didn't have any luck other than a few yellow bass, a small largemouth & about a 5lb carp. I could see a few fish chasing clouds of what appeared to be really small fry shad, but couldn't get them to hit anything I was throwing; never saw any surface schooling at all & never found them stacked up on the finder. I did get a visit from the game warden while there though, a really nice guy & had a good visit, just make sure you have all needed equipment etc. if decide to go.
Take my trip with a grain of salt, that was my first trip on that lake and was first trip with my new fish finder, so was playing with it a lot. I have always fished Grapevine or Twok, but recently moved and Benbrook is about 8 minutes from my house now, so will be out there more often & can hopefully figure it out. Luke57/OP, if you ever want to exchange notes or waypoints for Benbrook, or if need a fishing partner for a trip just let me know, thanks!
