I have some rods that I get to use every blue moon or so.
I keep them in a corner of my garage until I have a need. I recently found out that a mouse had made a home at the base of these rods and chewed up the foam/cork of the rod handle ends mad

Any suggestions from the rod builders on what I can do to repair the handle?

Pulling the rest of the foam / cork off so that I have that rod blank end isn't an option. I don't care for those style of rods.
If it makes any difference, these rods are 7 1/2 ft heavy action rods that I'll use for winter big blue cat or nearshore fishing in the Gulf.

You can clean the foam/cork off and change it out . EVA foam grips come in different lengths & hole sizes epoxy it on. Rod builders can change out the cork handle for you the cork sells in 1 inch length they wanted 40 bucks to change one for me. Winn makes some nice after market grips that you can install your self at a fair price.

I'll look into the EVA foam. Thanks for the lead

Still open to other ideas.

Take it to a rod repair shop and fix it right. It will save you money and headaches.

I've done simple handle replacement myself.
Just measure your handles and order the chunk of cork(?) foam(?) from Mudhole, cut off from damaged part down, put some epoxy and put on new handle.
With all preparations, it is 1hr job one night/rod.
Do it Mon, use Wed smile
Some of my cork handles came longer than I needed, I cut some out.
My foam was of different color, I put on top hit shrink handle material to cover both new and old parts of foam handle
using ordinary kettle as a source of heat smile
On a pic there is a few of my SIMPLE repair efforts:
1) "michigan" handle replaced with normal one, including reel seat;
2) installed reel seat, it was just a cork handle with two rings (horrible handle it was! smile );
3) fixed upper part of this old style "reel seat + handle" (rod is 20+ yo), I love the rod!
BTW, love this blue hit shrink tubing, now put it on several other older handles!
There is a big variety of colors, pick yours!

A pic of the damage would help.

It should be an easy fix
