Anyone install one of these on their boat, if so, did you place it at the console or on the motor? I've heard placing it on the motor that has a cowling cover will not work well. I'm mostly interested in an hours gauge. Any other recommendation.

I mounted mine on the engine. The only thing you have to do is mount it away from the spark plugs. Works very well..

mine is under the cowl with no problems. its a great tool for keeping up with your engine.
