I'd rather have then kneel than to turn their back to the flag.
It wasn't too long ago that the players didn't have to come onto the field until after the National Anthem. That changed around 2009 when the NFL was paid by our government to have to the players on the sidelines during the National Anthem.

When fishing a bass tournament, should you kneel at the start, or right before the weigh-in?
