Met Rob Sunday afternoon at Tanglewood,Tried to fish Sunday Evening but the boat traffic was very heavv, HP was a zoo. Weather was great very little wind but the big boats were producing some rollers. We fished Texas side from HP to TI. Could not find anything. Just before sundown headed back towards HP, stopped at the boat show around the timber and the striper did come up for about 30 minutes. Only caught one, too many boats. Monday morning we met Greg at Lighthouse and lanunced there before sunrise. Joined the boat show at the Dam and waited. They did come up but only in small groups and moved quickly from Ross Perot to Grandpappy. We got a few swirls but no hookups. Spent the rest of the day looking for a slab bite, checked tabletop, mac creek, cross and a few other places. Went around Washitaw point towards railroad bridge and tried chasing them, only got one sandie and one stripe. We watched two other boats catch several. At least the pleasure boat traffic was back to normal.
Tuesday morning we launched at HP early. Headed up The Texas side looking for activity, saw some shad and bird activity shallow and stopped when we saw a splash. STRIPER, finally. Too bad they were only 12". BUT I finally caught a smallie, after 20 years of fishing Texoma, I now believe there actually are smallies in big T.
Fishing wasn't too good for us but a lot of other boats were catching and the company, weather and lake were a nice departure from staying home.

Congrats on your first smallie, Steve. Still trying for my 1st. Got me some whopper ploppers, hopefully those will land me one shallow in the future. Top water striper on bigT is hero or zero deal. But been hearing lots of heroes lately banana

My advice would be to go mid week and hire a guide. They are out there every day. Todd, If I can finally catch one you will soon.
