In actuality, I could tell you that we are headed into what I would call a mega drought soon. These seem to occur every 4500 to 6500 years. I see it coming in the next 10 years.

In the past 2 weeks (or this last week), a group of scientists just got together & published some kind of report. In that report, they warn that Texas is headed into a super-drought, according to all the data. I will have to look back & see if I can find it again.

What I'm trying to say, is that the drought of 2011 is but a little bug on the windshield compared to what is heading our way. You can't even fathom how many fish will die, rotting. Such a waste, as the drought will have no regard as to size or regulations.

Just leave the limits alone. Manage lakes as they need to be managed.

After the break of the 2011 drought in 2012 a meteorologist had a article saying don,t celebrate too much as we are in the middle of a 20 yr. drought.

It's already spreading from the Bass fishing elite!
We now have special catfishing gear and boats, and tournaments, and now we are being forced by the driving force to put in more regulations so that we have more trophy fish!
People used to say years ago that it's coming, and it's here!
I have to agree, it's a done deal!
Drought and natural fish kills, plus commercial fishing pressure do more damage to the resource than people fishing now and then do keeping those over 20" fish.

Just one more cast!

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Worrying about something you can't change will forever be the biggest waste of your time. Trophy catfish conservation will continue to grow and is here to stay.

There is a fine line between fishing and floating around like an idiot!!

Do people in North Texas abuse Trophy Catfish & keep and eat them. Perhaps changing the fishing methods would be better than changing the rules. Maybe a limit of 4 poles per boat in the water, No live bait, barbless hooks, No stainless steel hooks.
