So yesterday got out on the lake, caught a bunch of nice sized white bass, kept 20 for a few meals, threw the rest back. Got home hot and tired, had to clean those fish, cool shower then a nap before dinner. After a dinner of fresh fish vegetables and salad I puttered around in the garden. At 5:15 this am got up and drove to work. The truck drove a little strange. No matter. I drove through the gate at work, a guard asked me if I had been fishing lately, I thought he was making small talk. I said why yes I caught a bunch yesterday. When I got out to get gas, there was my boat still attached. It is an 17.5 Ft Alumacraft and pulls very easily by my Chevy. I felt like a moron. I thought we should make an August Holiday Bring your boat to work Day. Anyone else bring their boat to work or have any other humorous stories to share.

Years ago, my buddy and I were going to fish one morning but weather said nope. It rocked and rolled all day. I told him to just come over later and we'll watch some football and drink some beer. He shows up and said "you are not going to believe what happened." He said that he pulled out of his driveway and was heading down the street when another car was heading his way. The car started flashing his lights so my buddy slows down. When he pulled beside the car and rolled his window down, the guy said you are dragging something behind your boat. My bud, asked, "My boat???" Sure enough, he was dragging his battery charger and a 100ft extension cord. Didn't even know his boat was still attached.

He was lucky in that he didn't destroy his garage or his boat.

Years ago in a Saturday sales meeting the manager announced that whoever did not have an appointment for that day was to go home. I had taken my boat to work to leave for the lake as soon as my day was over. I raised my hand when he asked who did not have an appointment and got to go to the lake early.

When I was married to the Ex and lived in the Pt. Arthur area, I used to borrow my FIL's 16' Alumacraft. I got up before the sun was up and headed to the Pt. Neches boat launch. I mean it was dark. When I got out of my truck at the ramp, there was no boat behind me. Immediately, visions of the boat coming loose and going through someone's car or house popped into my head. I took off like a flash to retrace my trip from my house. Sitting on the side of the road, a 1/2 mile from my house, there sat the Alumacraft. It had come off the trailer hitch ball when I went over the railroad track. Someone had stopped, pulled the trailer over and left me a note. Everything was still in the boat, untouched.

I never told my FIL.

My partner met me way before daylight at my house one morning before heading to a team tournament. He loaded all his stuff in my boat and we hopped in the truck and took off. My driveway was over 1/4 mile long, right before we got to the highway he said " you think maybe we should go back and get the boat?"
