Does anyone have a doughbait recipe for buffalo and carp they would share. Would like to try catching some in Lake Palestine spillway. Thanks.

I just use sweet corn, straight from the can.

Easiest way I know. Get some strawberry kool aid packets. Get a canning jar or something that will not leak. Make a very strong concentration of the kool aid. Get some bread. Pack tightly a bread ball around a small strong single hook leaving the tip of the hook slightly exposed. Dip the bait ball briefly in the kool aid in order to pick up the strawberry scent. You should be able to cast a tightly packed bait pretty well.
Treble hooks are not recommended as they tend to tear up the fishes mouth.

Having had good results using Skittles on Ray Hubbard, I'll recommend Starburst minis on their handling characteristics alone. Easy to bait, and last about 30 minutes. I give them a little squeeze to close the hole around the hair. You can still put on some corn if you like.

How long does the range cube stay on hook before you have to rebait it Unfortunately, each bag of cubes dissolves at a different rate. The water temperature and flow will also affect the dissolve time. Typically they last 15 to 45 minutes. The best way to check is to reel the cubes back in. If there is still part of the cube on the rig you are good to go. If all the rigs have the cubes gone then shorten the time before rebaiting. If I am tournament fishing, I rebait every 15 to 20 minutes. I have had good bags that stay on the hook for an hour. Small cats, bluegill, and baby carp will also eat them off the hook.

I did well on dry roasted peanuts fishjng with Bob (Kaboboom) in February. Smaller carp were on to most of whatever else we were baiting with, corn, range cubes and boilies. Buffs hit mainly mixed nuts and home made popup boilies.

I try everything. My best crazy deal is to drill a small holes in a range cube and tieing my line and a hook on it. I am not sophisticated with it at all but tie a j hook to hang on two sides of the cube. Of course you catch drum, Carp and catfish on it.

here's a simple one: take two ripe bananas and smash them up in a bowl. Next add a small packet of jello and 2 cups of instant oatmeal and mix until everything is combined well. After 15 minutes, pinch a piece off and mold it around your hook to test for consistency. You don't want it too soft, but not to hard either. if its soft, add another 1/4 cup of instant oats to mixture and repeat test.
