I recently purchased a boat with a Lowrance Elite TI-7 at the console and one at the bow. It has a transom mounted total scan transducer. I familiar with the Humminbird Helix 10 which is on my father's boat who I fish with often. The question is which units are compatible with the totalscan transducer? Can simply change out the unit and to get a bigger screen? I found a sheet that says it's compatible with the HDS head units. Could I simply change out the TI-7 unit with a larger HDS and plug in the transducer? Not sure if the totalscan transducer has different generations, compatibilities etc. Not sure why this information is so difficult to find. I am relatively tech savvy. Thanks in advance!

Totalscan will work on Carbons. Mine came with them. That said, the totalscan isn’t that great. I would upgrade to the Active Imaging 3in1. Much better images.

I’m not positive that totalscan will work with HDS Lives though. Sorry. I only know for sure that the Carbons came with them.
