I want to go Wednesday, but it depends on the USPS right now. I have a plate ordered to mount my troll motor and it was shipped yesterday. USPS says Wednesday arrival, but I am going to be confident it will arrive early and I can go fishing on my birthday!

I fished today. Got to 93 before I left. The fish did not seem to mind the heat. Caught a lot and also many nice fish to boot.

No, I wanted to go check out the sunfish in the oxbow, but it has been pretty crowded out there since they re opened. Years ago, I used to catch a lot of eating sized channel cats off the low water bridge. I need to go check them out.

Agree with you TomRom. Being retired, I fish most everyday accept Sundays. Found fish in the keeper range (7-10") were biting real well where I was fishing last week, even in 105 degree temps. Course I only fish 3-4 hours each day late morning to around 2-3 pm, but oftentimes they weren't biting until after noon. Today, there was no breeze, and even at 95 it got a little uncomfortable for me, but it didn't seem to bother the fish. Sometimes I have to fish a little deeper or change locations to find the right grass which seems to be the ticket. I really believe above water heat bothers the fishermen more than the fish. roflmao

Looks like we just might get some relief. Tropical system my be moving into the Gulf of Mexico and then straight to either Corpus Christi or Port Aransas. Early forecast is saying 40 percent chances of rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! banana banana banana (Triple Rain Dance).

Me too unless my partner insists on being on the lake before 7:30 am.

Fished today starting at 10 am but found panfish after 12 pm. The usual: 11" crappie and some nice sunfish and a few perch and small bass.
Location was wrong most of the day and it didn't matter what lures I cast. Fish got to be where your casting for fish to strike.
So after 2pm I went to the other end of the lake and fished my light jigs in 7- 8'. Bang! a decent crappie slammed the lure. Threw out my homemade buoy marker ( vs anchoring) to mark the location and discovered over a dozen fish in the general area. If it wasn't for the heat index of 90+ degrees I would have stayed and explored more locations in that part of the lake. At least 28 fish were hooked in a short time - more than satisfying.

(BTW I was gratified to see fish strike some of my new hybrid, soft plastic creations.)
