When i bought this boat 2 week ago I didn’t see this tune hanging out because neither i or the previous owner tilt the motor high enough for me too see it. I noticed that today and ask the previous owner but he told me that he didn’t know it either. Anyway does anyone know what is this tube or hose Is ? This is a 2007 Honda Four Stroke 90hp. First i thought that the hose is for water connector but it is not. I turn motor and put it in gear and i can see that the water is shooting out through the hole. Thank you.

So you're saying water shoots out of it when the engine is running? Do you have a water pressure gauge? ...and is it working? I'm wondering if this is a water tube for sensing water pressure. Don't know Honda, just guessing outloud. Now I want to know too.

Does it only shoot water out when the boat is moving? Looks like a water tube to operate a speedometer....

I'd go with that, Bronco71. I've seen them capped off in that same place on an OMC.

Just ignore it. All it was for was to work the speedo.

If it was a stupid idea, you can be assured I have already done it

Go to the Bass Boat Central web site and scroll down to the motor page and ask you question. Someone there will know.

I test drive the boat yesterday evening. The speed seem to work lime it supposed to but I noticed that the water shooting out through the motor is very weak. Wish i could of have video it . There was 1 boat in the boat slip next to mine and that tube look different from mine. That tube look like it connected to the boat motor water intake. Yes i did not take any picture of it either because it was raining so hard at the time that i was there.

It's just a speedo tube. Stick a screw in it and cap it off, or just remove it. You should stop worrying with it and just enjoy the motor.

You probably have a speedometer pickup screwed to the transom. Take it off, fill the holes with marine Tex and never worry about it again. Out of all the useless gauges on a boat that one is the most useless.
