I would estimate it is 10 ft but don't take my word for it.

Today is my birthday, so I took the day off.

Thanks Dennis for the tip on Humminbird map upgrade. I purchased and downloaded the high resolution add on and that allowed me to see the Iron Wall hump.

Tuesday July 14th 6:30 - 10:00 am (Caught 28, first limit [without a guide] on my birthday !)

* Started at the east end of Long Ridge. Marked loads of bait fish but no nothing else. Anchored for a little while and fished just to see if there were any whites mixed in but nothing.
* Moved to Iron Wall Hump. While I was scanning the edges saw some top water action toward the end of the point so headed over there and caught 8 whites. I don't have a trolling motor so I just motored up wind and drifted over them 3 times. When the top water action stopped someone had pulled up to the hump so I tried to scan the other sections of the hump and point not occupied but didn't find anything.
* Moved to Spillway hump and marked a ton of fish on the bottom in 25 ft of water at the southern elbow. Caught 20 whites and was still catching them but had to leave because my dog was getting hot and I forgot to bring her water.

One of the things that I think helped me today was dropping a waypoint using the cursor on my down imaging instead of just throwing out my buoy after I noticed something had scrolled by some unknown distance behind the boat.

7/17/2020: Today I headed north to fish on the north side of the 334 bridge. I had fished up there for the first time last August and did well. Left my dock at 7:20 AM and doing 30 to 35 mph I got to 1st spot to check in 30 minutes. It was a spot I had missed last year and was east toward Hwy 175. In that area there are stick-ups - some showing and some just below the surface, so I had to slow to 5 mph. Any way, that spot was very stumpy and I couldn't see any fish concentrations. So, I headed to a nice hump I fished last year back toward the west again going about 5 mph, and it was loaded with big white bass. I caught 50 before leaving to check other spots.

Before I left, a man and his grandson came by trolling around me about 100 yards away. They were not catching any, so I motioned them to come over and set up beside me. It was Brantley (8 yrs old I think) and his Paw Paw. They tried tail-spinners with no luck, so I gave them two of my rebuilt Mepps #4 spinners, and demo'd the technique to them. Soon both were catching fish. I asked Paw Paw if he knew the name of this hump. He said that it was called the Old Sandbass Fishing Hole. So, I have updated my map of the area to reflect the now known name. When I left they were still catching fish.

My next stop was farther north to the old submerged buildings. There is a submerged crossroads there, and just south of it I found a large group of whites. Caught 25 and decided to check the west side down towards the Seven Points Bridge. Like the other creek beds up there, there is one in that area that has a submerged berm on one side of the creek. I followed it and found fish. (Just left of the "H" in Hump A on the 2nd map below) Sat there and caught another 25 to get me to 100 and then headed home. It was 12:10 PM.

Sat July 18th 6:30am - 10am (21, mostly whites with a couple of short hybrids)

* Checked Key Ranch drop off quickly, didn't stay long because I haven't marked any fish there lately. Didn't stop to fish.
* Moved to Iron Wall hump. Marked some smaller schools but no big concentrations so didn't stop to fish.
* Moved to Spillway hump on the outer south elbow. Saw a little top water action around 18 fow so I stoped and anchored but didn't get any hits. Moved out a little deeper and marked a nice concentration of fish in 21 fow. Anchored and after fan casting for a while finally found the spot relative to my bouy and started catching fish consistently. A family with a small kid pulled up about 100 yards away and after seeing them not catch as many as I was for a while, I waved them over to my area. They moved a little closer to me and found a nice concentration out of my casting distance. I caught 21 and they caught at least as many as I did, probably more. Was trying hard to get my limit again but the dogs got hot so I had to leave. They had stopped biting where I was but the other family was still catching fish when I left.

I was down on CC most of the week. Could not seem to get any morning bites. Ron, I think Iā€™m the one who pulled up to spillway hump on your birthday. Hope i did t run you off.
Evenings were much better starting around 5PM
Had good luck at Long Ridge, Merrimac and spillway hump.
Caught 15-20 each evening. Even had my wife out one evening and she was catching them at spillway along with me. Was great to see the lake not covered in boat traffic.
Appreciate all the reports on here and especially the tips from DC. Big help to a novice.

I was out Sat morning solo. Got on the water about 630, checked the end of long ridge 1st and didn't mark much. Looked at Spillway humps, but stayed away from the other 5 boats there, didn't mark much and moved on pretty quick. Checked Enchanted, Merimac, Carolyn estates, Kevin's with the same results..not marking enough. Heading back to the damn area, I scanned the end of Long Ridge again and found them stacked up in 24 fow. Caught 32 large whites, 1 good hybrid. Part of the 32 came from several doubles on an RSR slab and fly combo. The rest were caught on #4 mepps, including the hybrid.

Nice catches Marty and TRH:

I had a friend come out to spend Saturday with me. He is from India and a vegetarian but he wanted to go out Sunday morning to just see what fishing is all about. He didn't want to fish just watch. As you'll see, it was a bad idea on both our part.

Sunday July 20th 9 - 10am
* Started at Spillway hump since I found a lot of fish there on Saturday. There were a lot of boats there but there was enough room for me to find a position around the souther tip. Marked some probable fish there but couldn't get on top of them and without enough room to really maneuver we left after 15 minutes or so.
* Headed to Iron Wall Hump. Marked a really nice school on the north side in 25 fow and not long after I started fishing I caught a really nice thick white. He kind of freaked out when I was trying to take the hook out, so I told him not to watch. He said he was willing to try to catch one but that I would have to take care of it once it got to the boat. So I set him up with a slab to just vertically jig so he didn't have to cast. A couple minutes later I hooked a really nice hybrid and the process of me using the net and then subsequently getting the hook out freaked him out even more -- even though I told him to look away. Anyway, I could tell this was really bothering him and respect the difference in culture and background so we headed back (although it was really tough walking away from a big school of fish with possibly another hybrid in it).

After he left for the day I headed back out there but didn't have any luck and it was hot in the early afternoon so I called it quits for the day.

Anyway, here's the 20 incher:

Took next door neighbor, his wife, son and son's girlfriend out at noon Sunday, and we found good concentrations of fish at Long Ridge West in 22 fow and at Mid-lake Hump in 24 fow. Everyone caught fish using a #4 Mepps, but after about an hour and 45 minutes it got so hot with no wind we had to come back in. We ended up with 28 whites and 2 legal hybrids. Here are some pics:

Tuesday July 28: FYI, I took a short trip out to check to see if any whites had moved on to shallower (13 to 18 fow) structures. I checked the A-frame, Sam's hump, Key RAnch Drop-off, Key Ranch North and Merimac Point. I found good concentrations of big whites at Key Ranch Drop-off but none on the other spots. I caught 10 fish to verify they were catchable and caught them on both #2 and #4 Mepps.
