Article 34 – Pictures

I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to read and save all the 33 Articles for future reference. I would like to end the series with some pictures from those that would like to post and tell what structure you and or your partner caught your fish fish off of.

- Structure or Cover – Depth – Technique – Bait. We may see a pattern develop here if enough pictures with write-ups are posted which will tell us which of the areas are most productive. Please feel free to post more than once as you go down the line up of Structure/Cover and dig out those pictures. Those that kept a Ledger, please help us out here and give more information.

Structure and Cover List:
The Dam – River Slam – Inside Bends – Roadbeds – Bridges and Embankments – Submerged Railroads – Big Flats – Dog Leg Creeks – Marinas – Drains and Culverts – Remote Areas – Deep Coves – Outside Bends – Fence Lines – Pond Levees – House Foundations – Boat Houses – Funnel Points – Cove Blockers – Humps and Islands – Heavy Cover – Deep Grass – Controlled Drifts – Ledges – Windy or Calm – Rubble Piles – Best Pattern – Spinner Bait Fish – Bass At Night – Suspended Bass – Top Water.

Corner of Dams - I will start us off here with pictures of Bass caught off the corner of the Dams on several lakes by my partners and I over the years. All fish were caught during the spawn either on a jig or senko in 5 to 12 ft of water. Jigs were Crayfish and used a Watermelon Red Senko on a TX-Rig. Some of these fish were staging along the Dam where the dirt meets the rocks from December to March.

Thanks guys. Hoping to see some fish that have been caught on these structures besides mine. You don't have to follow any order; just pick the structure or cover you caught them on and tell us about your great day on the water.

River Slam - Fish were caught on two very similar areas on Ivie and Falcon. We were fishing Gouges and protrusions on the 3 areas of the River Slam. Fish were caught before the slam, during the slam and after the slam left the area. They were caught on Short C-Rigs on Brush Hogs and 10" Worms in Watermelon Red/Pumpkin Seed Laminates. All of the larger fish were caught dragging behind the boat at the base of the slopes from the 20 ft. contour. The rest were caught from the front casting to the irregular features sitting in the Mid-Range depths from 5 to 15 ft.

Inside Bends - These fish were caught on Amistad and Falcon off of Creek Channel Inside Bends. The water depth was between 8 and 10 ft. [Linked Image]
. We made long cast to the bend while sitting in 20 ft of water. Most were on the edge and caught on C-Rig Lizards; Zoom Caustic Choice in color. These bends were in open water. On Amistad the bend was just outside the cove and on Falcon the creek wrapped around a brush island point just inside a cove.

The fish below was caught at Lake Whitney in August. It had been really hot and clear, but this day was cooler and cloudy so we hit the lake.
Bass was caught off of a river slam. Boat was positioned in 20-25 FOW slinging a C-Rig up to 15-18 FOW targeting some trees and brush or debris. C-Rig had a North Texas Custom Baits 6" Brush Hog in Light Watermelon and craw scent added to it.
The spot I was fishing was on a Super Chip from Don, but honestly I had fished that spot for years and caught smaller fish. By backing off and fishing the deeper water per the instructions, I caught this quality fish and continue to catch better quality fish.

It’s funny how differently those last 2 bass are colored. My brother had a place on the Guadalupe River outside Victoria. Would’ve never thought there would be a bass that size in that river.

Excellent pictures guys. Good to see those big fish.

Caught on Roadbeds:
I feel like the Big Brush Hog either on a T-Rig with weight pegged of the very Short C-Rig is the best bait to work the brush on each side of the roadbed. They were caught out of 5 ft to 10 ft of water. One or two during the spawn. The others were caught during early summer with the channel very close by.
