Ok. Me and my family have been fishing every night. We are looking for cat fish, bass, crappie, blue gill. We can't find the fish. Are they social distancing also? I'm in Sherman Texas, we've been to lavon, red river below the dam, Eisenhower's state park. We use worms, some jigs. Just can't find them. Any help or advice would be welcome. All bank fishing btw

Catch shad early. If not use cut minnows

mid summer fishing for cats is hard because in my experience, they go to the deepest channels. the spring babies are still super small and not ready to eat until the fall or next spring depending on their diet. if they are masked up, it will make them even harder to catch. roflmao

but no really, how deep do you think you're fishing? go deeper. I prefer dough baits in the summer like mojo or secret-7 or premo and lots of patience.

for the bass and sunfish, you'll need to catch them early in the morning or late in the evening as soon as it's daylight or just before it's dark. if the mosquitoes are biting, the bass are biting. again, look for moving water that would be cooler or areas were shade meets the water.

some people spend their whole life waiting for the storm, and never enjoy the sunshine

In the hot days of summer, morning fishing is much better than evening fishing. Also, always throw out a whole night crawler. If nothing hits that after an hour, move and try to get to deeper water.

Go early morning to the boat ramp just on the road to Eisenhower. Catch some fresh bait along the banks and at the boat ramp. Hike past the boat ramp to the end of the point. Fresh dead shad and perch will get you on some striper and cats off that point. I typically prefer to fish night time as some of the fish will come up shallow to feed. If you use multiple rods, throw some on the deeper edge of the point and some on top in the shallower water.

Plus #1. thumb

Side Note: The bite usually slows down during the "Dog Days of Summer"! Fish in deeper water. Also fish under overhanging tree limbs. Grass beds and drop offs are also good places that hold fish during the HOT days of summer. coolio
