Just curious if anyone knows if the Cara will be made in USA like the old ones or if they will be overseas?

Wish they would just come out so I can handle one and compare it to my old ones. I haven’t found a solid replacement for the Caras since they stopped production.

The Falcon Cara Amistad was my favorite but I went to Impulse and they have that same feel and I like them better.

Spoke to the folks at Falcon last week.. They told me that the new Cara's are coming from China.. When they ever get here.. Sad to hear..

Inventories are low as they only had a couple of the rods I wanted.

I have two of the original Cara's in the Pro Grass (8 stiffness) that are 12 years old. Flippin sticks.. I have caught literally thousands of fish with them at close quarters. Blanks are still perfect and I am getting all the eyes replaced on them.

Haven't found a replacement I like better.

In regards to the new Cara's......don't knock em til you try them. Everyone said that about the Experts too, and they are pretty dang nice rods.

Unfortunately, many of my old favorite rod companies have gone to overseas production. I still fish with old Falcons, Castaways, and some AllStars. Also American Rodsmiths! Some of these rods have literally caught over a ton of fish!

I know what you mean. Still have a couple of old Falcons and still have one of my old All Star WR1 rods. The great thing about the All Star rods was if I had an issue I would take it to my buddy Jimmy Smith at Smitty’s and he would give you a new rod and take care of it from there. Won’t find customer service like that anymore.

I have no doubt they will be "good" rods no matter where they are made. I just like my stuff made in USA. Hate to say but I've dumped Falcon and have switched to Kistler and Loomis

I'm right there with you... When I need to replace them I'll be looking for a rod made in the USA... And I'll be replacing 18 of them... Dan

Just seen a Facebook post by Jason Christie that he has received his first set of new Caras. Don’t really expect him to knock them but still curious how he compares them.
