Making my first trip to tawak Sunday I usually fish Tex. Taking a buddy and His 10 year old and want to put him on em. Planning to fish bait and just wondering if anyone had advice where to start? Iām guessing holiday humps and structure by the dam after looking at Navionics. Thanks

Those humps are good often. Its a popular area. There are lots of good humps and points between the east end of the 276 bridge and the dam. I usually start at one end and work my way along in about 25ft of water. While searching for fish on sonar, I'll troll big chrome rattletraps deep and I often hook up on nice magnum white bass, hybrids, and stripers through there. If I see enough fish sonar or I come across 15 boats slaying them, I stop. Good luck!

For sandies keep moving and scanning those humps, and points 25 fow or less and you will find them. Teok got HUGE sandies. Set up light gear for the boy and tie on a mepps #4. Hybrids may show up with the sandies when they feel like it. Splasher will help.
