 Bird problems..

I have two birds on my perow, a 7 si g2 gps on console and a 7 di g2 GPS on the front. I bought the smartstrike card to try out day before yesterday. Piddled with it last night and ran into a couple hiccups.
1. with the card in the si the map pulls up at 2nm. I can see the preloaded waypoints such as fish attractors and stumps. But, I cannot zoom into them. My +/- keys won't make a beep. The more I think about it I believe they have never worked. Graphs are about 3 1/2 yrs old.
2. With the card in the di up front I can zoom in/out fine but none of the waypoints show up. I verified that the map is loading as i can see contour lines and such but not structure waypoints.
What gives?

Tried to do a software update, it didn't take. Now unit is bricked. To the trash she goes with 37 hours of use. Which unit now to use the $200 map card with? Lol

Tried to do a software update, it didn't take. Now unit is bricked. To the trash she goes with 37 hours of use. Which unit now to use the $200 map card with? Lol I bricked my Helix 7 CHIRP SI GSP G2 a few hours ago. Saw another message where someone with a H7 G2 DI model also bricked his doing the 2.280 update. Messaged Humminbird about it.

Wayne i was hoping you'd chime in. Keep me posted please. I may call them tomorrow. Were at lake palastine camping for the weekend and it really bites to not have a console graph. Software for the G2 Helix 5 and Helix 7 has been removed from the website. May be back on the 20th, but too late for us.

update: I called humminbird last week about my problem. The lady sent me a prepaid postage label and done the software fix for free. I did notice that the helix 7 si GPS g2 software update was not available on humminbird. Com as of last week. Unit is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, less than a week turnaround.

update: I called humminbird last week about my problem. The lady sent me a prepaid postage label and done the software fix for free. I did notice that the helix 7 si GPS g2 software update was not available on humminbird. Com as of last week. Unit is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, less than a week turnaround. Well, no new graph. But, I am pleased with having my original one fixed for free. Gonna try to rip some lips in the am.
