Does anyone have an opinion about Crestliner boats? I am looking at a new boat in the next couple of weeks and have been looking at Crestliner and Xpress. I don’t know much about either one and would like to hear some thoughts.
Don Chumley If I ain't fishing, I ain't happy. But mostly I'm happy. I love being retired, the check is in the mail. Mt. 6:33

I looked a PT18 but the build quality was not what it should be for the price and the trailer was a cheap tube trailer. I have a 2015 Ranger RT188 now and love it. My next boat will be an Xpress X19. There is alot of info on bassboatcentral.com about all these boats.

I ordered the Xpress X18 Pro today. Had a bay boat on order but changed it. Heard/read a lot of good things about the new Xpress boats on bbc. There’s a X19 in stock with 200 SHO and Ultrex at Smith motor company in Mississippi right now that I was quoted $39k on. Go buy it!

Crestliner builds a fine boat. They are far more popular up North, as are several tin brands. Build quality is good, fit and finish is good, not great. I have owned one and found the ride in my 17.5 foot boat to be lacking severely. No way I take a Crestliner over an Xpress unless there is a huge price disparity. Crestliner is a Northern boat company hoping to compete in the tin bass rig arena and Xpress has been a leader in it for years with southern anglers. I'd go Xpress if those are the only 2 brands you are considering.
Working towards no name brands

Had 2018 PT20 200 mercury. Great fishing platform. Terrible build quality. Hull was totaled by insurance for leakage. Company would not stand behind it. Had another fisherman fishes as competitor in Media. He had 2019 same issue hull leak. Company would not stand behind it. If you want further info. Fished media on Palestine this year. Saw a guy I know at the ramp, was crawling around on the ground looking under a 2020 pt18. I asked them what they were doing? Said auto bilge stayed on all day. They found hull leaking. Call Bob Luellen world wide marine insurance. Ask him about crestliners and claims. Hated getting rid of it, but not trust worthy build or company.
