So I have a newer model/compatible Powerdrive trolling motor. I know if you upgrade it to the I-pilot/spot lock you can’t use the pedal. Is that a big hindrance, or do you find that the ipilot remote is sufficient for what you need?

I’m trying to avoid spending 2 grand on buying a brand new Terrova or Ultrex.

years ago I changed to the remote and it was a bit to get used to but now I would not go back. I wear it on a lanyard around my neck. With the anchor lock, cruise, jog and follow waypoints I don't have to control it much. The one place it can be annoying is moving through heavy timber and brush because you have to spend more time controlling it. I like the open deck room and controlling from anywhere in the boat. And if the back seat guy doesn't like where I am going I just throw him the remote and let him do it....

Thank you! That’s what I was hoping to hear.
