Ok I am done the DIY bait tank. Tired of fighting trying to keep the water cool and bait healthy. I want to get a real bait tank. Was planning on Sade Shak but they are out of production until late summer at least. I am interested in a 30 gallon insulated tank. What your .02 cents on what brand. I would not be opposed to a used one.

The best one I have seen is the Chiller Bait Tank. I have an old Grayline I have used for years that still does the trick.

Keep Alive has a budget friendly set up. Been using my 40 gallon tank for 12 years. Replaced the pump with a hi flow bilge pump after the original gave out 7 years ago. Throw a frozen water bottle in the tank and fish all day.

I have a 17 gallon Grayline that keeps 4-6 dozen shad all day. Make sure you get one with a charcoal filter and switch out the charcoal for charcoal and Zeolite. I use a mix of salt and shad keeper and almost never lose a shad and I overload my tank all the time. After all, who cares. Shad are free and they will die anyway once I drop them into a school of hungry fish.

I think the most important thing is make sure you neutralize the Ammonia. That's what the Charcoal and Zeolite does.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.
