Have a Club tournament on Hubbard Creek Lake coming up in September. Never fished there before and needing some advice on the best place to stay for the weekend. Thanks in advance.

funny to see this post. I was just looking, but not for a tournament. Just thought it would be an close family trip. It surprises me that there isn't any lodging (outside of airbnb and the like) on the lake, at least that i can find.

Village Inn was pretty solid, stayed there a couple times last fall - but tried calling them this spring and could never get in touch. Wonder if they went under again.
Rooms were really nice and the boat ramp was usable. Would be a shame.

Dinner at Ernies, get the chicken fried steak with queso. It beats that stuff in Zapata all to hell.

Stompy owns a ranch south of town and has private cabins available to rent. Outside of his place the Ridge Motel is your next ok option...
Yes Ernies is good eating. Pit stop BBQ is good as well.

Our club stayed at the Ridge Motel last fall. Fisherman friendly owner and a good Mexican restaurant in front of the office. Ernies, just down the road had good food and service.

Stompy's. I wouldn't even think of anyplace else Stompy’s? Stompy is a good man.. He will shoot the breeze with you and everything in your boat is safe and no need to lock up.
