Does anyone have any tips for catching fish on the Colorado near Bend, TX? There's lots of carp and gar in the small rapids. In these shallow areas, are they possible to catch? I prefer to fly fish if anyone can shed some light on these type of fishing tactics in that area.

I flyfish as well. There are plenty of bass and sunfish to be had in that area with a popper or clouser. Actually some of the bass can be pretty big, Yes carp and gar there can be down on the fly. I am not into fishing for those species though and have been told river carp can be some of the toughest to fish for.
