Wondering what's everyone's goal when going out. I'm sure it runs the gammet.
I bet more folks go just to get away and can enjoy the time on the water and not inside the city limits.
Don't get me wrong, a PB is always my hope on the next cast.
But realistically I've made some of my best memories and friends without ever catching a fish.

Making a cast remembering all lost friends is mine. Just feel lucky to do that.

Just to relax and enjoy being outside fishing,I usually catch a few but I'm not into tourneys,so the pace is slow and enjoyable, being retired I go at the lest crowded times.

When I was younger I would feel slightly aggravated if I didn't catch at least a "good one" like a 4 or 5 lber but that was when I was able to spend 8-10 hours on the water. Now I'm just happy to catch a keeper!

Great comments, looks like we're a lot a like being thankful for having the opportunity to be in the water is there biggest blessing.

I enjoy being out when the sky first starts to get light in the morning, and I love seeing eagles and deer, but I guess I am shallow. I want to get a bunch of bites and catch fish. I'm not going to launch my boat in lakes where that doesn't happen. I'll drive 60-70 miles to get to a lake where it does.

I much rather enjoy catching fish than just being out on the water. I can’t seem to help it but I am never fishing just for fun although fishing is fun. I am nearly always pushing to find them.

If you can't find em wind em.

My goal is to go out without someone cutting me off on the water or driving up and fishing within 20 ft of me. Fork was known for this but now it seems to be everywhere. I use to let it go but now I call it out. Seems like there needs to be some type of class on common courtesy. Oh yeah, it’s called common sense.

You take what each trip gives you. Sometimes it's a giant, sometimes it's numbers, sometimes it's meeting someone new, sometimes it's a butt whooping. You store each experience away and learn from it.

Be safe,
