Is the 7 pin transducer a huge difference from the 5 pin transducer that comes with the Helix 7 G3N?

The number of pins in a transducer plug can vary. A pre-MEGA SI transducer needs 5 pins=Left SI, Right SI, 2D sonar, Temp, and common neutral. A MEGA SI transducer 6 pins with 5 of those as above plus an additional one for the Down Imaging piezo.
A Helix 7 SI unit in any generation has no Down Imaging. ALL of them have composite DI views created by blending the two SI pulses= only needs the 5 pins. The MEGA SI transducer for the Helix 9, 10, and 12 models have true Down Imaging. The MEGA SI+ transducer for the Helix 8, 9, 10, and 12 models have true Down Imaging.
I have tried the MEGA SI+ transducer with the Helix 7 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G3 I have and saw no noticeable difference. It's a $400 experiment if you want to try. I have MEGA SI+ units so I already had the parts.
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N and G4N, 1198c SI, SOLIX 10 SI G3, Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 SI and G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL, RC-1

Thanks but Hummingbird told me the highest/best transducer that is compatible with the 7 comes with it. That is useful info though and I appreciate it.
