Where are you guys seeing the info about the Tawakoni tournament? The only thing I have seen is on the forum about the upcoming Tawakoni tournament is "guess the weight" contest? Not seeing any info (time you can leave ramp, start time, stop time) about tourney on their web site?
It was sent in an email to everyone on the Champs email list I guess. I got it twice. 3 fish limit Leave ramp no earlier than 5:00 First cast at 6:00 Last cast at 2:00

After our dismal practice 10 days ago I just hope to catch 3 keepers. Can't understand why we can catch so many fish out there but never find good fish. Sounds like them Louisiana boys need to come thin the herd!

Why not just do like the kayak guys do and measure the fish with a picture. It's just too hot to be putting fish in the livewell. If Bass Champs was really concerned about the fish they would do something like this. Otherwise the 5 fish to 3 fish is just for publicity.

Who knows but I can tell you that other than the year it flooded after being way low about 4-5 years ago, we average catching 30-50 fish in a day and generally have about 11-14# of fish to weigh in. One of these days we will get lucky. Heck maybe it's this weekend. We are due.

Who is to say that all of the handling, measuring and picture taking isn't in its own way taxing on the fish just allowing for the mortality to happen away from a tournament host location? Also, I believe I remember a kayak angler that was caught cheating in a major tournament so no system is perfect. (re: Texas angler Brent Taylor) To insinuate that BassChamps is not really concerned about the fish seems like an unfair statement.

I'm sure they have some concern for the fish and I would hope they've learned from some of their past mistakes regarding outcome of fish. But there is no way measuring a fish and taking a quick pic is as harmful as sitting in a livewell all day when it's 100 degree outside. No way!

Basschamps doesn't do stuff for publicity, they dont have to, no other trails can touch their average turnout or longevity. Its simply making the best out of the situation at hand for both the anglers and the resource. Whether you like the decision or not, IMO its just nice to see an organization considering the resource versus purely focusing on $$.

Doc, its 20k for first and 180+ boats... paper tournaments are great for clubs or buddy tournaments but this is the real deal!

Absurd, I can personally tell you BassChamps cares more about not only live well practices, but also delayed mortality rates then any other trail I've been associated with going all the way to the top professional tiers rather than money.

And for the record, I have never been paid one cent for any volunteer services from BassChamps.
