Many of yuo go out on Bastrop? I am debating dropping my boat in there this weekend. I did not plan to fish, but I need to find a place I can run her around a bit to get the gas run through and work the engines a bit. My boat is a tad big for a lake that small heh, feel kinda silly running it around the kayaks, but it is close to me... (I live the other side of Bastrop)... and if the boat has room for me to get her up to speed, would be a great fast place to go to when I need to work on the engines and see how they are running.

Anyway, just curious. Have fished it a few times, just been a lot of years. I used the ramp to help get the boat on the trailer better, but that was it. South shore was just too small, but the north shore worked well enough.

It's a smallish lake but plenty big to run your boat for your purposes. May want to check if it's open for the weekend or not. Some of the local lakes that LCRA manage have been closed Fri - Sun. All ramps on Travis were closed last weekend. Not sure if that will continue or not.

Gotcha.. yea, was going to call them today and see if they were open. Either way, good to know when it does open, it will fit.. heh. Mansfield dam is too sharp an incline, worries me trying to load and unload this boat there, even with 4-wheel drive... buch is too far to drive to test so, Bastrop it is!

Still looking for a trustworthy Yamaha tech in the area as well, but man... living out here has it's pros as well as cons heh.

Thanks!

R

You should have no problems at the lake. Water temps are approaching 100. Fishing is ok. Schooling should start soon.

Bastrop is a fun lake. The bigger fish are at the dam.

Agreed. I used to fish it every so often when I had a bass boat. I took this one to the south shore and could not get out of the way of the kayakers to start the engines lol...

The north shore was a lot more room, but we only put it in the water to get it loaded onto the trailer better, so will try that ramp this weekend, hopefully heh. May take a couple rods, just for fun.. would love to see the kids catch fish, but definitely not a shallow boat :P

Thanks guys!

Hummm?......I'm a kayaker and I try to steer clear of any boats large or small!
They might have been amused at the size of your boat, and waiting to see it run! cheers
