Tawakoni is loaded with keepers.

They must not be fishing deep enough.

Or shallow enough! Amazing how shallow those fish get even with 80+ degree water temps!

I think this is a good call, but another question I have..

In the summer when it is this hot and we have first cast at 5:45, why not weigh in at 1p. Less time in the livewell for the fish and a little easier on the anglers as well. That 1p-3p time period is brutal on everything in late June - August.

Curious if I'm the only one that thinks that a good idea.

I've thought this exact same thing in the past. Ray Roberts was definitely brutal the last 2 hours of the day. That being said, we culled up with about 45 minutes to go. I could at least see going to a 2:00 last cast vs 3:00.

The last year they gave away boats during the north tournaments, we almost won a boat on Tawakoni. We had the fish on that would have won it but it came off. The last two fish that we kept were caught in the afternoon, a four pounder on the last pitch of the day.
I don't fish tournaments anymore so I have no say but there is good fishing in the afternoon sometimes.

It’s a 2:00 last cast. That sounds good to me.

it's a good call for the heat.

Smarter call would be to not stick any fish in the livewell in that kind of heat.

If I had a choice between Twok and Fork, I would pick Twok 8 out of 10 trips....it’s fishing good right now
And the fish are slobs!!!
We had a great 3-4 trips last month

Where are you guys seeing the info about the Tawakoni tournament? The only thing I have seen is on the forum about the upcoming Tawakoni tournament is "guess the weight" contest? Not seeing any info (time you can leave ramp, start time, stop time) about tourney on their web site?
