853 is my favorite for any plastics, but for whacky senkos the 893 would be my choice its a lot softer rod and longer etc. I have a 893 and dont use it much because its more like a spinning rod in that you dont have a lot of back bone to horse a fish or turn it, perfect for whacky senkos if you ask me..
852 would be my second choice. for whacky senkos

853c for sure perfect for weightless senko and wacky senko have a shimano core on both and this rod with cast a weightless senko a mile so idk why it would have a issue with wacky lol 7'1 is plenty length.

Its a stiff rod for a fine wire wacky hook, especially with no drag to help. Not to mention usually for a wacky rig you use lighter line. Most people use a spinning rod for wacky for the drag and light line etc. A weightless senko is totally different, that needs a little bit of a hook set etc vs just reeling into the fish like with a light wire open wacky hook.

Yes the NRX 853 would be perfect for wacky rigged senkos. I use mine for that as well as any smaller soft plastic or trick worms.

I love my NRX 853 but I use it for t-rigged Beaver or craw type baits with/without a 1/8 to 1/4 tungsten bullet.
For weightless Senkos I prefer a 2 power, t-rigged or wacky. I recently sprung for a 782 Conquest 6'6" M/F (hey... it was 1/2 price!!), and the 4+ lb'er I caught on it the first day was awesome. Extremely light and sensitive. If you love the NRX, don't go to the Conquest. Your pocketbook will be in Harm's Way.

Do your self a favor and buy a Power Tackle The One 03 7ā3ā or 7ā6ā Im pretty sure the question was about an NRX not a Power Tackle rod. I have quite a few Power Tackle rods but he did not ask about them. Me personally would not throw a weightless bait on a 7ft 6inch rod.

As far as NRX, I like the 852 for the technique he is asking about. The conquest 842 would also be awesome. The NRX 842 would be too light and wimpy. In my opinion the NRX 853 would just be ok, not my favorite rod. I prefer the 852 for whacky and then step up to the 893 for weightless senkos. I also have 5 of the new power tackle series 04 and 03 rods and they are awesome as well. The series 03 or the LPC 470 would both be great. I think you have a lot of choices. Ezbassin I know he did not ask about other rods but that's ok to give him the answer he was asking about and to also give him other options that maybe he didn't think about.
