hey guys im new to the area and trying to get my wife on some bass. she just started fishing and is hooked. I live right next to eagle mountain and have caught some nice whites and catfish but the largemouth seem to elude me. looking for other lakes to take my wife for good numbers of bass not just big ones. lots of small fish is fine to teach her what a bite feels like how to set the hook etc. I do have a boat and lots of tackle just don't know anything about the lakes around here

welcome where are you from? Most of the lakes around here are fishing extremely bad right now.

Welcome. EM can produce a lot of bass around docks and marinas. Pitching a watermelon finesse worm works well.

im from southern new mexico not much water around there. I don't mind fishing all day to figure them out but I don't want my wife to get discouraged and not want to go. the docks and marinas are a new thing to me. back home there are no docks on the lakes and very few marinas. I will give it a shot thanks

I do best with light line on spinning gear, 8# line. TX rig, 1/8oz bullet weight. Gotta put it in the shade next to or underneath manmade objects. Poles, ladders, boats etc. Like many lakes in dfw, it's a rock close to deep water pattern. Go east if you are looking for grass lakes, there's a bunch. Born in NM.

Benbrook might be an easier lake to get something going on, and not too long of a drive. Electronics are your friend there. Lake Worth is another docks and rocks lake that is close and is probably easier to get some stuff figured out on that Eagle Mountain (EM is on and off for me, and mostly off)
